E-Coat Process

E-Coat means Electro Coating. Automotive, appliance and many other products use e-coating to prevent rust on the products.

E-coat consists of several sub-processes:

  1. Preparation – a cleaning process.
  2. The coating process itself – submerging the part into a container which holds the coating bath or solution and applying direct current electricity through the EPD bath using electrodes.
  3. After deposition, the component is rinsed.
  4.  Finally, the part is baked.  This allows the coating to become smooth and continuous.

YKTA will use ecoating to protect components that we produce for our customers. The e-coat process produces a basic coating, giving excellent corrosion protection to components.
